R.I.P. Steve Gerber
Better writers than I have commented on the passing of Steve Gerber, so I won't try to give any sort of obituary. Outside of a couple of pleasant email exchanges, I didn't know the man, and couldn't do him justice.

But I will say this: Howard The Duck #12 was one of the first comics I remember reading. HTD #2 was one of the first half-dozen comics I bought when I started rebuilding my collection in the 80s. And Omega The Unknown was one of the few series that I thought ended too soon.

Steve Gerber is one of the reasons I loved comics. More than that, he helped at least one frustrated adolescent make sense out of this world he never made.

Rest in peace, Steve.
